41 yo mother of two from Parker, Colorado found Board Certified, Fellowship-Trained Urogynecologist and renowned cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Oscar Aguirre on a referral from her local OBGYN. Patient has a greater than 10 year history of symptomatic pelvic relaxation. She underwent a sling procedure years ago and initially had good results, but now presents with recurrent stress incontinence symptoms. Upon further questioning, she describes pelvic pressure and changes in intercourse. Dr. Aguirre performed a thorough pelvic examination and after further testing his finding included impaired urethral relaxation with kinking effect from prolapse, both contributing to urinary retention in the presence of stage II complex pelvic organ prolapse. Findings were discussed in detail with the patient along with Dr. Aguirre’s recommendation of combined abdominal/vaginal surgical approach. After reviewing all surgical and non-surgical options, she decided to proceed with an In-Patient surgery in a hospital setting. Dr. Aguirre performed an Abdominal Supracervical Hysterectomy, Sacrocolpocervicopexy, Bilateral Paravaginal Defect Repair, rectocele repair and Vaginoplasty. She returned to the office for her regularly scheduled postop appointments pleased with the complete resolution of her palpable vaginal prolapse and voiding difficulties.
