- Excision of Vulvar Tag (Acrochordon)
42 yo mother of two from Castle Rock, Colorado located the office of nationally renowned Urogynecologist and master cosmetic surgeon Dr. Oscar Aguirre located in Englewood, Colorado through an internet search. She presents with an eight-year history of gradual enlargement of a labial skin tag which causes her significant embarrassment. Eight years ago she “snipped the Labia” during trimming and shaving of her pubic hair. After allowing it to heal in its own, she noticed enlargement and stretching, over time. She states it has formed into a ball-like shape that becomes fluid filled and enlarges at times. After consulting with the patient, Dr. Aguirre performed a thorough pelvic examination which revealed a pedunculated skin lesion hanging off her left labia majora which enlarges into a cystic sac and is currently decompressed. After discussing all surgical and non-surgical options she expressed her desire to move forward with scheduling surgical correction. Dr. Aguirre performed, in an office surgical setting, a Vulvar tag excision. Pathology diagnosis confirmed a benign fibroepithelial polyp or acrochordon.
