24 yo woman from Vail, Colorado located the office of renowned Cosmetic Surgeon and Board Certified, Fellowship-Trained Urogynecologist Dr. Oscar Aguirre of Parker, Colorado from a Google search on Labiaplasty. She has been bothered by the aesthetic appearance of her Vulva her whole life. She remembers even in early puberty being self-conscious about the size of the labia, especially as she compared herself to her sister and others around her in the locker rooms and noticing other women with smaller labia. As she became sexually active she has been bothered by labia dragging and pulling. During consultation with Dr. Aguirre she does recall her first tampon use being extremely painful and has since required being careful in how she admits and removes tampons. She has also experienced extreme pain with sex on occasion. Dr. Aguirre performed a thorough pelvic examination which revealed labial hypertrophy. There is normal light pink color to them and symmetry but she is bothered by their size. Closer inspection reveals a bulky hymen at the introitus. On further examination, there is a septated hymen. This was demonstrated to the patient and explains her prior issues with tampon use and painful sex. She was also found to have an anal tag at 12 o’clock. All history and findings were discussed in detail with her along with all surgical and non-surgical options. She decided to proceed with definitive surgical therapy and scheduled for the next available surgery time. Dr. Aguirre performed in-office aesthetic vulvar surgery in the form of a Laser Reduction Labiaplasty of the Labia Minora, Excision of Septated Hymen and Anal Tag Excision. She returned to the office for her regularly scheduled postop appointment very happy with the results.
