My name is Dr. Oscar A. Aguirre and I am the founder of Aguirre Specialty Care – Pelvic Surgery and Intimate Aesthetics, The Center for Female Pelvic Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery.  I am originally from La Paz, Bolivia. I do, however, consider Denver home, as my family and I moved to Denver when I was just 4 years old. In 1978, when I was 11 years old, I saw the story of Louise Brown, the first test-tube baby. While I watched the doctor who performed her mother’s treatment being interviewed, I was mesmerized and captivated and decided then and there that I wanted to be an infertility specialist. This moment led to my decision about what I wanted to do with my life and thus began my lifelong dedication to women’s health.

After a one-year stint at Colorado School of Mines, I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in molecular, cellular and developmental biology. Much to the dismay of my father, who strongly urged me to become an engineer and geologist, I enrolled in medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. While in medical school, I was introduced to urogynecology, but it wasn’t until my residency that I decided to make it my focus and my specialty. I left Colorado for four years to complete my residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, but quickly returned to Denver.

To further my career, I was fortunate to be able to complete a two-year fellowship in Denver, Colorado with Dr. G. Willy Davila, currently of the Cleveland Clinic Florida, in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at Colorado Gynecology and Continence Center. The practice, established in 1992, was the first urogynecologic practice in the Rocky Mountain region. Upon completion of my fellowship, I took over as medical director of the practice, and renamed it Urogynecology Associates of Colorado. With the help of my team, we provided patients with the best urogynecologic care available.

I am a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and I am board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with sub-specialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. I am one of few fellowship-trained urogynecologists in the world who is qualified to perform Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty. This additional training has made me a leader in Female Genital Cosmetic Surgery (FGCS) in the Rocky Mountain region. I am an active member of many organizations including the American Urogynecologic Society, the International Urogynecological Association, the International Society of  Cosmetogynecology and the American Medical Association.  I am also a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

While the name of my practice has changed over the years, our mission has remained the same. Since day one, our mission at Aguirre Specialty Care is to create a partnership with you and to address your concerns and pursue treatment options that will enable you to live free from the limitations brought on by your urogynecological and cosmetic conditions. This mission is something I take great pride in. I encourage my patients to ask me questions and do their research. I want my patients to know the ins and outs of every procedure they are interested in.  My team and I are here to help every step of the way.

My personal and professional mission is to support organizations that aid abused and battered women and children. A portion of the profits from ASC is donated to support these causes.

Currently, I live in the Denver area with my wife, Rachel, and our two beautiful children who never cease to amaze me. I love the weather here in Colorado and all of the outdoor activities we have easy access to in this great state. I enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking and playing tennis with my family.
