Frequently Asked Questions about The Viveve® Treatment in Denver, CO

How does The Viveve® Treatment work?

The Viveve® Treatment can tighten the tissues of the vaginal entrance using gentle, precisely-controlled, cryogen-cooled monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) energy, which stimulates new collagen production.

Is the treatment safe?

Radiofrequency energy has been used in treating skin on the face, neck, and hands for over a decade. Numerous clinical trials have demonstrated the safety of this latest RF application.

How do I know if I’m a candidate?

As a reconstructive and cosmetic vaginal surgeon specializing in intimate aesthetics, Dr. Aguirre is an expert in determining which vaginal rejuvenation options are best for each individual patient. At your consultation, a detailed history and examination will be performed and a customized treatment plan provided.

Can I have a FemiLift or O-Shot at the time of my The Viveve® Treatment?

Yes, many patients would benefit from combined full vaginal length CO2 resurfacing with FemiLift to address vaginal dryness, vaginal looseness, and stress urinary incontinence, since The Viveve® Treatment treats only the introitus, or opening to the vagina. An O-Shot, using your body’s own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), would further enhance the regenerative effects of Geneveve’s radiofrequency technology.

Can anyone have the treatment?

Not everyone is a candidate since surgical vaginal rejuvenation may be a better solution for some, which Dr. Aguirre would determine at the time of your consultation. Additionally, the The Viveve® Treatment is contraindicated for patients with either an implantable pacemaker, such as InterStim, or an Automatic Implantable Cardioverter/Defibrillator (AICD).

Does The Viveve® Treatment hurt?

This gentle treatment heats the collagen within tissues while keeping the surface of the skin cool and comfortable with cryogen-cooling technology.

How long will my Viveve® Treatment take?

Treatment is quick, taking about 30 minutes. For continued improvement, annual maintenance treatments may be needed.

Will there be downtime?

There’s no downtime after a Viveve® Treatment. You can resume your daily activities immediately, although sexual intercourse should be avoided for 48 hours.

When will I see results from The Viveve® Treatment in Denver?

Patients typically begin to notice improvement in the first month, but every patient is different. Some patients report feeling a difference immediately, but new collagen formation takes about 3 months to develop and may continue to improve after that time.

How long will my results last?

Results will vary from patient to patient based on their presenting examination (degree of laxity), their individual needs and expectations, and their body’s unique ability to produce collagen. Based on clinical data, most women are still seeing benefit at one year, but annual treatments are encouraged to maintain efficacy.
